Music Briefs: Middle Eastern, Bebop, Anime, Chansons

With this month’s music briefs, we’re encouraging you to think a little differently, whether it’s imagining yourself in another place, another time, or an entirely different reality. From Middle Eastern sounds to animated environments, all of these themes have been in demand with Pond5 customers, and we’d love to hear your take on any — or all — of them!

Once you’ve completed your work, a unique code can be applied to each track – just add the code (provided at the top of each brief) to your keyword tags when you upload. That way, we’ll know which genre you’ve been focusing on.

If you have any questions or comments about any of these briefs, please email Pond5’s Director of Audio Collections, Mike Pace, at mike@pond5.com.

Similar to our other primary categories, sports-related imagery can illustrate strong concepts far beyond its literal representation. Pro-Tip: Budgets on professional sports shoots that include a large cast and uniforms can run pretty high, but they don’t have to if you can cheat themes by shooting tighter angles and limiting your cast to a few principal actors.

Casting Considerations: Race diversity. Real athletes will play an important role in the success of your shoot.

Before You Shoot:
• Please check what content already exists in the Pond5 marketplace
• Think about a visual approach that will result in new and fresh footage

Pro-Tip: Shooting professional sports can be a costly endeavor, but it doesn’t have to be. Low and tighter anglesallow you capture the stadium lights behind the talent, rather than empty stadium seats.

In addition, there’s nothing more profitable than “playback” footage for TV and films. Compositing fully released sports footage into a TV, iPad, or phone screen is often requested and can be extremely lucrative.

Casting Considerations: Race diversity. Real athletes will play an important role in the success of your shoot.
