    Only Murders in the Building is an American mysterious comedy television series created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman airing on Hulu, starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Cara Delevingne, and many more, airing on Hulu.

    The plot follows three strangers obsessed with a true-crime podcast that decided to start their own podcast about their investigation of a suspicious death in their affluent Upper West Side apartment building, the Arconia.

    All3 Media leaned heavily on Pond5 content for this big sharks project. We hosted a web demo for Laurie Wright, the archivist in charge of this show, and provided search tips and tricks to help her navigate the website. As a result, they researched and found most of the content on their own through the use of our industry-leading search and curated collections. They also worked closely with our Curation team to obtain the rights to license content no longer available through the Pond5 marketplace.

Working directly with their production team for over 18 months on footage options gave us true insight into the style and cinematic techniques used, allowing us to identify the perfect shots to complement the film.

  • Lucky8 TV Shows

    Lucky 8 is a full-service unscripted production company headquartered in New York City, dedicated to telling immersive first-person stories. Since its inception in 2014, Lucky 8 has produced a broad range of programming for networks such as National Geographic, History Channel, MTV, and Animal Planet.

    Lucky8 partnered with Pond5 to cover footage for their History channel documentaries The Food That Built America, and The Toys That Built America. We also provided footage for To Catch a Smuggler, a documentary TV series observing the Department of Homeland Security adjust tactics to meet the increasing flow of narcotics coming across the land borders during the pandemic.

  • Greta Van Fleet – Age of Machine Music Video

    Greta Van Fleet is an American rock band hailing from Frankenmuth, Michigan. 22-year-old twin brothers Josh (vocals) and Jake Kiszka (guitar), younger brother Sam (19, bass/keys), and longtime friend Danny Wagner (20, drums) formed the band way back in 2012 and are still going strong.

    Their new video for “Age of Machine,” from the album The Battle at Garden’s Gate, premiered on April 16, 2021.

    In July 2020, the UK government launched the ‘Enjoy Summer Safely’ campaign to encourage the British public to resume the activities they love while taking care to minimize the risk of coronavirus transmission.

Dancing with the Stars, For All Mankind Season 2, Asylum Entertainment

  • Dancing with the Stars

    Dancing with the Stars is an American dance competition and television series that premiered June 1, 2005 on the US television network ABC. It is based on the British TV series Strictly Come Dancing produced by BBC Studios, the commercial arm of the BBC.

    Currently, the format has been licensed to air in 60 territories around the world. The format of the show consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Each couple performs a number of predetermined dances each week, competing against others for judges’ points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges’ points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only one couple remains.

    “Season twenty-nine of Dancing with the Stars premiered September 14, 2020 on the US television network ABC. In the Fall of 2019, I worked closely with the team at Lime Grove Productions, which is responsible for clearance and post-production of this reality TV series.

    The show normally consists of 10-15 episodes so I was thrilled to see how Pond5 could help in their filling air-time due to the unfortunate travel restrictions that were in place. Based on several conversations regarding content the show would need, including establishing shots from places they could not travel to, plus editorial clearances for commercial use, we determined an upfront credit pack deal would help with both savings and licensing efficiency throughout the production. We also gave them a bonus to work with and the show recently wrapped-up filming.

    The new season is packed with celebrities including animal activist and star of Tiger King, Carole Baskin, rapper and singer Nelly, and female actor Anne Heche.

In 2018, when Asylum’s production schedule was lighter for the coming 2019 season, Pond5 worked with them on a pay-as-you-go basis. The following year, Asylum’s production schedule increased for 2020 and their need for stock assets increased, so we agreed on a credit pack to provide creative content for all their projects in 2021.”

    The Billboard Music Awards are given out annually by Billboard, a publication and music popularity chart covering the music business. The Billboard Music Awards show had been held annually since 1990 and the event was formerly held in December until it went dormant in 2006.

    The awards returned in 2011 and are now held annually in May. The most recent BMA winners are, for example, Billie Eilish, Post Malone or Jonas Brothers.

  • Exposure Labs for Netflix – The Social Dilemma

    The Social Dilemma is a 2020 American film directed by Jeff Orlowski and written by Orlowski, Davis Coombe, and Vickie Curtis. It‘s an exciting combination of drama and documentary genres exploring the rise of social media and the damage it has caused to society.


    The film focuses on the exploitation of social media users for financial gain, how platforms are designed to nurture an addiction, the effect too much social media use has on mental health and the role these platforms play in spreading conspiracy theories.

    Joe Biden is an American politician who is the current President-elect of the United States. Previously he served as Vice President in the Obama administration from 2009 to 2017.

    During the 2020 presidential campaign, Pond5 footage was used in several of Biden’s campaign videos.

    “During the course of the 2020 presidential election cycle, I had the opportunity to work with both producers from the Biden Campaign headquarters, as well as a number of producers from other production companies and creative edit houses that had been hired for the campaign’s advertising efforts. One project, in particular, was especially interesting, due to the fact that the majority of the clips used in the ad were sourced from Pond5. The project was for a campaign video intended for Latinx voters and the voiceover for this ad is in Spanish. ”

    Philanthropist. Businessman. Sex offender. Jeffrey Epstein moved in powerful circles and remained untouchable for a long time. Why? This four-part documentary miniseries based on the 2016 book of the same name by James Patterson tries to find the answer.

    The documentary features interviews with several survivors, along with former staff members and former police chief Michael Reiter, a key individual from the first criminal case against Epstein. Filthy Rich was released in May 2020 on Netflix.

    “What’s unique about this music video is that it was filmed in the peak of the U.S. coronavirus lockdown. The artists weren’t able to film a traditional video so their team at Sony Music Entertainment reached out to license footage to complete their greenscreen format. Lose Somebody remains at the top of Kygo’s Spotify chart since June. This video is a great example of how stock footage can help creatively when filming on location faces challenges during a pandemic.”

    Have you ever asked yourself, what causes hatred? What is it behind the scenes that drives this visceral emotion? What are its origins? Why We Hate sets out to answer these questions in a six-part documentary television series described as “an exploration into the human condition of hatred and how we can overcome it.”

    Produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions, it was released on the Discovery Channel on October 13, 2019. Pond5 artists’ footage makes up a huge part of this documentary.

It is a United States federal agency under the Department of Health and Human Services. Its main goal is to protect public health and safety through the control and prevention of disease, injury, and disability in the US and internationally. The CDC focuses national attention on developing and applying disease control and prevention.

  • Rocky Doris Creative & Netflix: Absurd Planet

    At Pond5, we think animals are hilarious. And you do too! Whether it’s TV shows or viral online videos, people just can’t get enough silly animals. Absurd Planet is a nature documentary produced by Condé Nast Entertainment and Love Productions USA. It was released on April 22, 2020, and distributed by Netflix.

    The show features a unique twist – humorous narration from Mother Nature herself! So check out the trailer link below and the show on Netflix. Maybe you’ll catch Mother Nature joking about one of your clips!

    “The Rocky Doris/Pond5 partnership was born out of a licensing deal with Netflix when they allocated funds for a brand-new episodic production called Absurd Planet. It is a parody of Animal Planet, featuring real animals in nature, but accompanied by SFX (Sound Effects) and quirky voiceovers done by the producers of the show. It’s absurd, silly and family-friendly, and took a full year to put together, just in time to air in our homes at the height of the lockdown in the US. The show is distributed by Netflix, and we worked directly with the production company Rocky Doris based out of California. We were tasked with doing content research for 12 episodes, and a total of 2,099 total assets were licensed total.
    Pond5 makes up about 35% of the content for Season 1.”

  • The Chicks: Gaslighter

    As the last project in this month‘s Content in the Wild we‘re happy to unhide a music videos from The Chicks. Famous American platinum-selling country-pop trio, previously known as the Dixie Chicks, released a music video to their hit song Gaslighter. The inclusion of Pond5 content helps to flesh out and complement the vibe of this video, which is directed by Seanne Farmer.

  • Louis Vuitton: Instagram Campaign

    Louis Vuitton needs no introduction but we’ll give one anyway. Also known as LV or Louis Vuitton Malletier, they are a French luxury fashion house and retail company founded in 1854 that offers a huge range of high-end products from shoes, bags and leather goods to jewellery and even books!

    You can spot the famous LV monogram and distinctive brown and gold colour combination on outfits worn by Angelina Jolie, Billie Eilish and many others. Louis Vuitton reached out to us for archival footage for one of their ad campaigns. We were happy to oblige!
